PRAGUE - IT'S ALL IN THE DETAIL!

A visit to Prague in March was a shock after a first trip there 18 years ago. The city is overrun by tourists and though as beautiful - and often cleaner - one must escape the masses to savor this fascinating city which made me think, on my first visit, "Why did they have to build Eurodisney when we have a place like this in Europe?".

Prague is all about detail : the zig-zag coat hooks at the Cubist Cafe, the salmon pink walls with "family" paintings in the third-floor Palffy Palac restaurant in a baroque palace, the sensual, scantilly-draped ceramic ladies watching over the dining room in the Imperial Hotel, a 1914 Art Deco gem. I even found my "dream house" that I discovered 18 years before, tucked alongside a canal at the foot of the Charles Bridge.
